New Year, New Gear

Here is a list of new, hot equipment to grab at your local PGA TOUR Superstore before the season starts.

It’s a new year, which in the golf world means new golf equipment from the club manufacturers. Every year, the technology being used in the equipment keeps getting better, and is ultimately helping us improve our swings and enjoy the game more, whether you are a beginner or average golfer, or someone with a single-digit handicap.

Below are some examples of the new equipment that is now available at the two Denver-area PGA TOUR Superstore locations, as well as online.

Callaway MAVRIK Driver is a piece of new gear that is in high demand.

Callaway MAVRIK

MAVRIK delivers incredible ball speeds technologies led by Callaway’s A.I.-designed Flash Face SS20 architecture, high-strength FS2S Titanium, their new Cyclone Aero shape, which differs drastically from their recent driver shapes to promote faster head speed. The Cyclone shape is shallower from front to back, with a flatter crown, and a sole design that sweeps upward dramatically in the rear to create a markedly higher trailing edge. That’s how they decrease drag for increased club head speed.

The new TaylorMade SIM Driver is out now.

TaylorMade SIM

The SIM‘s reshaped sole design optimizes club-head speed and enhanced aerodynamics at the most critical stage of the swing. The Inertia Generator positions weight at the extreme rear for increased forgiveness and is strategically angled to reduce drag on the downswing. Each SIM/SIM Max/SIM Max•D driver head has been individually calibrated and injected to reach the threshold of the maximum legal limit of ball speed. The revolutionary face curvature reduces sidespin and delivers straighter shots on off-center strikes.

Cobra Speedzone driver is new in 2020

Cobra Speedzone

The SpeedZone Driver has a traditional shape with front to back CG adjustability that is perfect for those who desire to work the ball with ease and fine tune launch and spin without sacrificing forgiveness. The face is the engine of the driver and the foundation for speed. An infinity edge face design expands the milled area by 95%, enlarging the area of the face that is at the legal limit. It’s as precise and maximized as ball speed gets.

Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport Putteris a piece of new gear in 2020

Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport Putter

Evolving the curvy, compact setup of this classic blade design, the Special Select Newport has an insert-free, solid milled 303 stainless steel putter head with new performance balanced tungsten sole weighting for a larger sweet spot and increased stability. The revamped plumbing neck allows for better alignment and setup with freer visual access to the flatter, narrower topline, while a new, cascading concave second tier knocks down reflection and provides a “melt-into-the-ground” appearance at address.

PING Heppler putter is a piece of new gear in 2020

PING Heppler Putter

The Heppler putters offer a machined, solid face for golfers who prefer a firmer impact feel and sound. Multi-material (steel and pressure-cast aluminum) mallets and mid-mallets provide extreme forgiveness and optimal center of gravity for accuracy and consistency. A premium, contrasting copper-and-black finish provides alignment cues and visual interest. A stiffer adjustable-length shaft is standard and golfers can be fit for all stroke types (Straight, Slight Arc, Strong Arc).

The two PGA TOUR Superstore locations in the area are located at 9451 E Arapahoe Road in Greenwood Village and 5650 W 88th Avenue in Westminster. Store hours are Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
