Improving Lower Back Flexibility for Golf

A simple knee to chest stretch can lower your pain, and your scores

One thing that has affected millions of golfers regardless of age or skill level is pain or soreness in the lower back. It can start as general soreness, become a nagging pain, or flat out keep you off of the course.

Katherine Roberts demonstrates a simple stretch series with the goal of improving your lower back flexibility. Increasing your flexibility can be the key to strengthing your back, limiting – or eliminating – your pain, and ultimately improving your game. Perform this exercise before and after rounds or, for many of us in Colorado, in the wintertime when the snow is the one decreasing your playing time.

This stretch below will help you improve your back flexibility and help keep you pain-free on the course. For many more yoga stretches and training for golf, visit Katherine Roberts' YogaForGolfers.com or follow her on Twitter at @robertsyoga.
