Many PGA TOUR golfers agree that they face no more pressure in their careers than when competing for their country whether it be in the Ryder Cup, Solheim Cup, Walker Cup or other international competitions. Phil Mickelson recently helped lead the U.S.A. to Ryder Cup glory at Hazeltine, and with 5 majors among over 50 professional wins, knows a thing or two about pressure golf. In fact, his amazing match on Sunday against Sergio Garcia featured both players shooting matching 63s (Mickelson had 10 birdies and one bogey while Garcia had 9 birdies) to each gain a half a point for their respective teams.
But pressure doesn’t have to come with the Ryder Cup, green jacket, or PGA TOUR-level prize money on the line. You may feel pressure down the back nine in an attempt to break 90, when trying to win your weekly league match, or just to finally get one in play.
