5 Steps to Being a Better Driver

5 Steps to Hitting Better Drives on the Golf Course

Driving the golf ball more consistently is on the wish list of any golfer. Whether you’re trying to climb to the top of the Official World Golf Rankings or the leaderboard of your local course’s C-Flight championship, we all want to hit it longer, straighter, and more consistently.

One of our favorite instructors, PGA Certified Golf Coach Alex Fisher (also named one of Golf Digest’s Best Young Teachers) presents this series of videos to help with your driver. In these five tips, he breaks down the swing starting with how to properly setup with your driver all the way to “bringing the crazy.”

He’ll show you one of the common mistakes golfers make when trying to hit the ball further and why you have to swing the driver on a different, flatter plane than the other clubs in your bag.

So go ahead. Bring the crazy.

Step 1. Setup, Stance, Alignment

Step 2. Shoulders

Step 3. Power and Pivot

Step 4. Swing Plane

Step 5. Bring the Crazy!

Alex is the Director of Instruction at the Glacier Club as well as an instructor at JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix. He can be found on Twitter @alexfishergolf and online at alexfisherpga.com
