Lashley Leads Going Into Final Round of HealthONE Colorado Open

Denver, CO—Nathan Lashley of Scottsdale, AZ birdied five holes on the front nine to post a 5-under par 66 to take the third round lead at 13-under par at the HealthONE Colorado Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.  His consistent play over the three days (67-67-66–200) has earned him a one stroke cushion over second round co-leaders Gunner Wiebe of Aurora, CO and Canadian Tour player Brad Fritsch of Holly Springs, NC who both sit at 12-under (201 total).

Lashley, whose parents and girlfriend were killed tragically in a plane crash in 2004, has made a name for himself recently in the rocky mountain region after finishing in a tie for 10th at last year’s HealthONE Colorado Open and winning the 2010 Wyoming Open.

Wiebe and Fritsch shot identical 3-under par 68s to remain tied just one shot back of Lashley. Second round co-leader James Woodson of Richmond, VA didn’t have the same fortune as his two counterparts as he gave three strokes back to par and fell into a tie for 12th at six-under (207).

The low round of the day and the 2010 tournament belongs to Colorado Springs, CO native Tom Glissmeyer who took advantage of the perfect conditions early in the day to post a 7-under par 64, which moved him into a tie for 8th at 8-under. Glissmeyer, who at age 16 played in the US Open in 2003, won low amateur honors in the 2007 HealthONE Colorado Open while playing collegiate golf for University of Southern California.

The 64 players vying for their share of the $125,000 purse will begin the final round of the HealthONE Colorado Open at 7:00 am on Sunday, July 25th. Along with his share of the purse, an exemption into the Canadian Tour’s Desert Dunes Classic held November 1-6 in Palm Springs, CA awaits Sunday’s champion.

Admission and parking at the HealthONE Colorado Open are free to the public at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver.
