Lodge Yourself in Utah
What St. George, Utah—just 30 minutes from Mesquite—may lack in neon, it more than makes up for in natural beauty. Wish You Were in Dixie?
Why is Southern Utah called Dixie? There’s even a Dixie State University. Back in the 1850s, Brigham Young encouraged his followers to grow cotton and other temperate cash crops that the North would no longer be able to get from the South (a.k.a. Dixie). The plan failed but the name stuck.
