A Sense of Belonging at Fox Hollow Golf Course

Fox Hollow Golf Course, Meadow Nine

As I walked toward my approach shot on the final hole, I took time to reflect on my round. Sure, I hit some shots I would like to have back, but I also hit enough good ones to keep me satisfied. I was still looking for that one shot, though. You know the one I am talking about.

At Fox Hollow Golf Course, our three distinct nine-hole layouts provide you with the variety you desire and many opportunities to make that one shot. On “the Canyon,” you have the opportunity to negotiate a challenging plunge down narrow Coyote Gulch. This nine includes Fox Hollow’s signature fifth hole, a 445-yard, par 4, that features an 80-foot elevation drop from the end of the fairway to the green. “The Meadow” treats golfers to a streamside experience where Bear Creek and other water hazards sparkle amid ancient cottonwood trees. Finally, you are free to unwind on a Scottish-style nine set against a sweeping vista of the Rocky Mountain foothills rising steeply to the west when you play “the Links”.

I was finishing out my round on “the Meadow” on the day mentioned above. With 126 yards remaining, I pulled out my wedge and considered my options. The green is lined with trees on the left, but the right side is wide open. The safe play was to aim for the center of the green where a bad shot long or right would have still left me putting for birdie. I toyed with the safe option. Ultimately, I decided to go for it since this was my last hole of the day. I warmed up with a couple practice swings and took my place over the ball. Then it happened!

While I’d like to tell you that I scored an eagle on that final hole, the truth is my shot, the shot, rose perfectly in the air, paused ever so slightly, and landed within eight feet of the cup. Even though it didn’t go in, it was the best ball I hit all day and watching it come to rest on the green provided me with that strange sense of satisfaction that only golfers appreciate.

At Fox Hollow Golf Course, we understand why you play.
