Where to Play

Sand Hollow’s Championship Course is simply one of the finest courses in Utah. The ground undulates and holes wind in, out and through the desert. The John Fought and Andy Staples design has sand traps dotted throughout both 9’s and most are deep enough to make landing in one essentially a penalty stroke; reaching the green from many is a big challenge. The back nine is where things get real, and a steady round here requires good concentration and execution. No. 12 and 13 have a dramatic canyon on the left, and shots over there will never be seen by mortal man again. In addition the 9-hole Links Course is 3,600 yards through very similar terrain as the Championship Course, and brings the best challenges that desert golf can offer into play.

What to Do

What isn’t there to do? From dune buggys in the desert to golf to rock climbing, hiking, water skiing, boating and fishing the resort area is filled with beautiful pursuits that let you recharge, relax and leave reinvigorated. There are more than a dozen travel guide companies that can help you sojourn into the red rocks north of St. George and explore for day-trips or longer. Downtown St. George has many excellent restaurants, with The Painted Pony, Morty’s Café and George’s Diner getting top reviews. Start your nightly prowl at downtown’s Main and George streets.
