The Country Club at Castle Pines Debuts The Crags!

Country Club Castle Pines - The Crags

The Country Club at Castle Pines revealed its newest golf experience to members and their guests last fall. The Crags is the first new amenity added since the approval of the Club’s $17 million expansion project.

The expansion will soon boast a clubhouse and patio renovation, cliffside infinity edge pool, fitness center and a full complement of racket sports. The Crags is a massive, one-acre putting course built with the same attention to detail as the Club’s world-class greens on its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

The Crags is perched at nearly 6,700 feet and is literally built on a series of rocky crags on the western cliff behind the Clubhouse and its incredible patio.   Inspired by the Punchbowl at Bandon Dunes and an Alistair McKenzie green at Sitwell Park in England, the purpose of the putting course is pure entertainment.  Featuring 30 feet of elevation change, incredible contours, putts that break 40-50 feet and up to 20 degree slopes, The Crags course routing changes nearly every day and can be sized from 12 to 18 holes. The putting green is fully outfitted with landscape lighting, a speaker system for music and several fire pits so Golf Members and their guests can enjoy an endless amount of fun, friendly putting competitions and an ample supply of drinks of course. It is destined to be one of the best 18-hole putting course experiences in the country making an invitation to play at the Club even more coveted than it already is.

The Country Club at Castle Pines’ reputation and accolades keep on growing.  The Club’s 20 acre practice facility was just awarded top 50 in the United States and the amenities just keep getting better.  The practice area will feature two new chipping and sand play greens along with a new short iron range in 2021.  The Crags is just the latest example of what distinguishes the golf culture at The Country Club at Castle Pines from other Clubs in the region and the nation.
