Ten Million and Counting

The Robert Trent Jones Trail celebrates ten million golf rounds

I’ve previously featured the Robert Trent Jones Trail on this site, but it reaches a milestone this week that is absolutely worth celebrating.

At some point on Wednesday October 23rd, twenty-one years and five months after opening (The Ridge at Oxmoor Valley near Birmingham, Ala., was the first course completed), the 11-property, 26-course network of golf facilities will welcome its ten millionth round. That’s just over 38,900 rounds a month or about 1,300 a day.

Instead of honoring just one person as the ten millionth visitor, the Trail will be celebrating across all 11 sites with special commemorative gifts for each player, and food/drink specials in the clubhouse.

I’ve not played all 26 courses…well, I’ve played three to be precise…but the more I see of it the more I’m impressed. Courses this good at around $65 a pop is something to be celebrated, whether you’re the ten millionth customer or not.
