In June the resort from Dream Golf got its permit to build and course construction is underway

In late June construction began on the proposed Rodeo Dunes golf resort near Roggen, Dream Golf announced this week.

The move came after the construction phase of the golf-resort project received the go-ahead permits from Weld County, the state of Colorado and federal environmental agencies.
“The moment I set foot on this land, I knew this was the place,” said Michael Keiser, one of two brothers who are developing the project. “The dunes are perfect – tall and rolling, with unlimited possibilities for great golf holes.”
The project is one of the most highly-anticipated golf course developments in Colorado.
The Keisers are sons of Bandon Dunes creator Mike Keiser and the Colorado Rodeo Dunes resort is being launched as part of the Dream Golf portfolio, which includes Bandon Dunes resort and the Sand Valley resort in Wisconsin.
The team has also just broken ground on its first Texas location, Wild Spring Dunes in east Texas.

Since the founding of Bandon Dunes 25 years ago the company has garnered a world-wide reputation for providing golf experiences.
The first Rodeo Dunes course is designed by the team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Developers say it “marks a return to the type of inland-links landscape that defined their groundbreaking work at Sand Hills.”
Jim Craig, a long-time Coore and Crenshaw collaborator, has completed a routing for the resort’s second course.

According to documents submitted to Weld County, the company has long-term plans to build as many as six courses over the next 20 years on the site, and constructing lodging and a resort hotel. The site is approximately 45 minute drive north of Denver International Airport.
The rolling sand dunes of the more than 4,000-acre site have been used for pasture and ranching. Dream Golf acquired parcels of the land by leasing some from the state of Colorado and purchasing others outright from Mike Cervi, whose home is nearby and who is the largest producer of rodeo shows in the U.S. Cervi’s family business is the inspiration for the resort’s name.
Some preview play is expected on the new course in late summer or early fall, 2025 with a grand opening slated for 2026.
“We’re building a golf course!” the Dream Golf team sent out in an email Tuesday. “We received our grading permit on June 28, and the C&C ground team is wasting no time. Under the direction of Bill Coore and lead associate John Hawker, crews have already stripped and begun preliminary shaping on seven greens – nos. 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. Tee shaping is underway on nos. 8 and 10, and no. 10 fairway is tilled. We look forward to seeing completed golf holes next year and welcoming golfers to the full Coore & Crenshaw course in 2026!”
