Have you played a round of nine holes over the past few months? If so, as you have probably seen, you are not alone. Across the more than 200 golf courses across in Colorado, rounds played are up 12 percent year-to-date and more than 16 percent in July. In the metro-Denver area, rounds played in the month of July were up nearly 25 percent vs. a year ago. And across the country, every state saw an increase in rounds played in July.

According to the National Golf Foundation (NGF), golf course operators report that afternoon and evening tee times have been popular, given how our workdays have changed for many in the wake of the pandemic.

“Courses are seeing people they haven’t seen before or seen very much of. They’re seeing husbands and wives play, parents and kids. It’s kind of surprising to them because even with some restrictions in states, they are still finding themselves to be busier than a similar time of past years.” –Joe Beditz, President, National Golf Foundation

If you are new to the game, golf allows for social interaction, while at the same time proactive distancing. It has numerous physical and mental health benefits and is a game that can be played one’s entire life.

If you’re somewhat of a regular on the links, invite someone new to share a round with, and let them experience the fun of the game.

PGA TOUR Superstore—the country’s leading golf retailer—welcomes golfers of all ages and skill sets. Custom fitting—whether it be drivers, irons, putters and even golf balls—is at the center of what they do… and it’s free! This is because golfers are built differently and have different swing speeds, and so it’s important that custom fitting become a part of an individual’s game.

PGA TOUR Superstore Open for Customers

Inside PGS TOUR Superstore, their number one priority is the health and well-being of their customers and associates. As an experiential retailer, they enhanced their safety and social distancing protocols to ensure comfort, care and cleanliness in their stores. During your visit at one of their two Denver-area stores, you will notice they have a ‘starter’ at the front of the store to answer any questions you may have, and that all associates are wearing masks and social distancing.

By its very nature, golf is a game that brings people together. Golf has a lot of positive buzz now and we support a game that is well-positioned to serve families, individuals and communities during this time and in the future.
