Golf Tournament Series Kicks Off in Denver

With golf tee times already hard to come by – and its only April! – Colorado golfers who want to play some of the region’s best courses have a golf tournament series and events available.

Tournament Series

Colorado AvidGolfer hosts a four-tournament series – scramble teams can play one, two or all four. Teams will vie for prizes, give aways, on-course contests and food and beer tastings.

Monday, May 15, Blackstone Country Club: Sold out!

Monday, June 5 – Green Valley Ranch, 4900 Himalaya Road, Denver –  Designed in 2001 by Perry Dye – son of Pete Dye – the course is a blend of wetlands and rolling prairie and hosts the Inspirato Colorado Opens every year.

Monday, July 17 – Black Bear Golf Club, 11400 Canterberry Pkwy, Parker – Opened in 1996 as Canterbury Golf Course, Black Bear was designed by Jeff Brauer.

Wednesday, Sept. 6 – The Ridge at Castle Pines, 1414 Castle Pines Pkwy, Castle Pines – The Tom Weiskopf design features steep drops and climbs and is regularly listed as one of the best public courses in Colorado.

Member Play Days

There are member-for-a-day opportunities at two of the region’s most exclusive country clubs. These have no format and rounds will fully test each golfer’s skills.

Monday, July 24 – Hiwan Golf Club, 30671 Clubhouse Lane, Evergreen – The Press Maxwell design opened in 1962 and is in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, with fairways lined with pines and rolling greens.

Monday, Oct. 9 – Cherry Creek Country Club, 2405 S. Yosemite St, Denver – The Nicklaus Signature Course features numerous Jack Nicklaus trademarks, from his patented risk/reward shot locations to extensive options to make the course playable for all levels of golfer.

Member-for-a-day events are discounted for players who have already purchased the Golf Passport.
