Parker resident selling 500,000 negatives of PGA Tour heyday

At some point, every golfer wishes they were a professional on tour – to be playing golf like Tiger Woods in his prime, beating the best players in the world on the biggest stage would be the best job ever.
Parker resident Marc Feldman had arguably the second-best job ever. Feldman was a golf photographer working on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and European Tour from 1996-2016. Through his lens, he’s captured iconic photographs that document golf’s history in a golden age.

“Golf for me, it’s a passion. I played golf with my dad as a kid, and I still play as much as I can. To move that over to a profession, you have to pinch yourself and go ‘wow, I’m actually doing this,’” Feldman says as he reflects on his career.
Today, Feldman is sitting on more than 500,000 35-mm slides from his career. The slides aren’t organized in any particular manner, but they feature incredible images, and he is looking to sell them to a golfer who will appreciate them.
“They have value, but it would have to be to the right person,” he says. “I’m not doing this because I need the money, I’m doing this more because I’d hate to see this collection just go away.”

When asked about the most memorable moment from his career, Feldman says photographing Arnold Palmer on the Swilcan Bridge at St. Andrews is probably number one. Palmer was retiring from the game and Feldman was one of a select group of photographers granted access to snap the historic scene.
“Photography, it’s kind of weird because you’re so focused on what you’re shooting, that at the time we didn’t realize what an iconic image that was going to be,” Feldman says. “It’s one of those images that’s sort of stood the test of time.”
While Feldman doesn’t have a particular price he is looking to get, golfers who are interested in this collection of history can contact him and figure one out. His slides are listed for sale on Craigslist. com.
The most important thing for him is that they are appreciated and live on.
