Erickson, Davis moving through rookie seasons on DP World Tour

Two golfers with Colorado ties are slogging their ways through Africa, the Middle East and Asia as part of their first seasons on the DP World Tour.

Dan Erickson, whose family has lived near Longmont, and Davis Bryant, the defending champ of the Inspirato Colorado Open, both qualified for the DP World Tour this season through the Q-School last fall.
Last weekend both had their best performances to date.
Erickson played in the DP World Tour’s signature tournament last weekend, the Porsche Singapore Classic, and finished tied for 6th. He was leading after two rounds of the three-round tournament after carding a 64. That was tied for the lowest score of the week at Laguna National Golf Resort Club in Singapore and he tied just two other players in the field in going that low.
Erickson won close to $75,000, his biggest paycheck of the year. He has played in seven tournaments this year between the DP World Tour and its developmental tour, the HotelPlanner Tour.
Erickson is scheduled to play in this weekend DP World Tour stop, the Hero Indian Open.
Both he and Bryant earned their DP World Tour cards in December. The early season for the DP World Tour includes stops south of the equator but even there the shortened days meant that field sizes were kept small and both found themselves relegated to the HotelPlanner Tour several times.
Davis last weekend finished 6th in the HotelPlanner Tour’s Delhi Challenge in Haryana, India, and won $8,700. Former Colorado University player Yannik Paul is also in the field.
