Colorado AvidGolfer launches Scratch Society

New golf tournament series to give players access to private courses

Colorado AvidGolfer has hosted golf tournaments for our readers and supporters since the magazine was founded but this season we have launched our first all-private play opportunity, the Scratch Society.

These five tournaments will be held through the summer and fall and give our readers the chance to play some of the region’s best private courses: Pinehurst Country Club, Valley Country Club, Blackstone Country Club, The Ranch Country Club and Kissing Camels GC.

Here’s what to know

What is the Scratch Society? This is Colorado AvidGolfer’s new golf tournament series incorporating special playing opportunities on private golf courses around Colorado.

Do I need a handicap or GHIN number? No you do not. If you have one it can be used for some of the in-tournament competitions, but if you don’t have one you are still welcome.

Can I sign up as a single? – Yes!

Can women enter? – Absolutely! Women teams, singles and groups are encouraged to be part of every tournament.

What are the formats? Every tournament allows players to play as a team scramble or else to play their own ball. Everyone will be able to participate in closest-to-the-pin contests during the round.

Is there SWAG? All players receive a goodie bag, post-round meal, a tee box gift courtesy of Denver-based Pins & Aces.

For more information, go to the Scratch Society page.
