Where to Play: Tuscon and Southern Arizona

The bunkers and greens on all 27 Jack Nickalus-designed holes at the Westin La Paloma all received enhancements during the resort’s recent $35 million “rejuvenation.”

Omni Present
The PGA Tour’s Tucson Open may be history, but the Omni Tucson National’s Catalina Course (which hosted the event for 30 years) and newer Sonoran (designed by Tom Lehman) remain two must-plays in the area.

Course of Notah
Casino del Sol Resort will be the site of the first Notah Begay III-designed golf course, Sewailo. A collaboration with Ty Butler, Sewailo (“flower world” in Yaqui) will “resemble a desert oasis,” according to Troon Golf, which will manage it.

Window on Ventana
Ventana Canyon’s Mountain and Canyon courses alternate play between members and guests of the Lodge at Ventana Canyon and Loew’s Ventana Canyon. Either Tom Fazio layout will give you all the golf—and photo ops—you can handle.
