The Golf

The Troon North resort north of Scottsdale has two Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole experiences that provide a perfect introduction to desert golf. The landscape of the Sonoran Desert is modified just enough to give the fairways and greens room to provide a lush challenge. The twists of the fabled Pinnacle course require smart placement to avoid the many natural rocky fields strewn between emerald fairways, greens and tee boxes. Its companion, the Monument course, makes great use of natural rock formations to add even more challenge. And true to the name of its No. 18 hole, St. Andrews, the greens are simply enormous.

After Your Round

On course, the Dynamite Grille offers a delicious array, much of it with a southwest flare. The grille gets going early, with a breakfast lineup to power your round or lunch/dinner offerings for after golf.

Others nearby include the family-owned Pinnacle Grille and Darcy’s Ristorante.
