TUMBLING DOWN the flanks of Mount Werner, Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club has set the standard for mountain golf since it debuted as the Sheraton Steamboat Golf Club in 1974. Open to the public, the spectacular 6,920-yard course remains an amenity of the Sheraton Steam- boat Resort Villas. The course’s Fish Creek Grill is the perfect après-golf spot, or try the Saddles Bar and Grille at the Sheraton. Starting June 30, you can ride Steamboat Ski Resort’s eight-passenger gondola to the top of Mt. Werner. The gondola runs 9-5 daily through Aug. 27, and on weekends through Sept. 24.
