At least three golfers with Colorado ties are in the field for the 123rd U.S. Women’s Open this week.

Since graduating from Loveland High School Lauren Lehigh has been playing collegiately for the University of New Mexico. Her team made it to the NCAA Division 1 championship match play round this year, and Lehigh finished tied for 21st place in the overall individual medal play after four rounds. She qualified for the Women’s U.S. Am in 2019 and 2022 as well.

Emma Bryant, who is going to be a junior this fall at the University of Denver, grew up in Aurora and plays on the DU team. Bryant qualified by tying for second place by shooting a 2-under par 70 at the regional qualifier June 21 at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve in Westminster.

University of Colorado sophomore Morgan Miller, from Austin TX, is also in the field.

“It’s the biggest tournament of the year besides the Augusta National Tournament so I’m really excited about it,” Miller told CU’s associate athletic director Troy Andre.

Miller tied for fifth at the Walnut Creek qualifier with a 1-under-par, 71, and was the first alternate until she was recently notified that she was in the field. The Buff’s associate head coach Madeleine Sheils will serve as her caddie this week.
