Get Cushy with TRUE Linkswear

TRUE Linkswear’s much anticipated OG Cush is here at last and it’s everything we hoped it would be

By Tony Dear

We last featured a TRUE Linkswear product four months ago. Some readers will be thinking “Why TRUE Linkswear again so soon?” while the rest will wonder why it’s been so long since we featured them considering the Tacoma, WA-based company has since introduced new hats and added to its All Day apparel collection.

We’re primarily concerned with TRUE’s footwear, however, and have monitored its progress with some interest since it burst onto the scene (a bit dramatic, perhaps, but TRUE’s distinct style probably earned it the ‘burst’) in 2009. What made TRUE shoes so different was, of course, the zero-drop heel/toe platform. You look at the OG Cush and, indeed, other TRUE shoes on the website and think it looks similar to its competitors. Then you look closer and realize the raised heel so common in other shoes isn’t there. The heel can be a matter of millimeters above the toe in other brands’ shoes but, in TRUE models, the difference between them is precisely 0.00mm.

TRUE says that puts the foot in its natural position and engages the muscles in your feet and legs to promote stability and balance. And, as tens of thousands of us have discovered, it’s incredibly comfortable for golfers walking four to five miles between the 1st tee and 18th green, especially when 6mm of Wanderlux cushioning is added to the midsole.

The Toe Box is EEE-wide which allows your whole foot to sit flat with no pinching, the upper is made of a breathable mesh, and the sole is covered with dozens (no, we didn’t count them) of raised ‘T’s to provide traction.

The OG Cush is exactly what you’d expect from TRUE Linkswear and will likely become another favorite among TRUE diehards.
