UPDATE July 23 – Nicholas Brooks of Parker lost in the first round of match-play competition in the 2025 U.S. Junior Amateur tournament in Dallas.

Nicholas Brooks, a rising senior at Lutheran High School, is the only Colorado player to make it out of the stroke-play competition at this year’s U.S. Junior Amateur.
Brooks is among more than 200 players who kicked the tournament off this week with two days of stroke-play. Monday and Tuesday Brooks, 16, shot rounds of 73 and 70 at Trinity Forest Golf Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas. That was good to place him among the top 64 players who move on to match play, which begins Wednesday.

In June Brooks won the American Junior Golf Association Colorado Springs Junior.
Colorado players in the tournament who did not make the cut include:
- Ash Edwards, 16, of Boulder
- Austin Hunt, 17, of Highlands Ranch
- Gregory White, 16, of Centennial
- Brayden Forte, 17, of Aurora
