Longmont’s Kelly Jacques Appears on “The Big Break”

Two-time individual 5A high school champion and two-time Colorado Women's Golf Association Player of the Year Kelly Jacques will be one of the 12 contestants on “The Big Break Ireland,” which premieres September 20 on The Golf Channel.

For the 25-year-old Jacques, who attended Skyline High School and went on to star at the University of Oklahoma before playing sporadically on the LPGA Futures Tour, the experience could be the jump-start her golf career needs.

The Big Break show concept pits highly skilled golfers against each other in a variety of challenges that test their physical skills and mental toughness.  During Big Break Ireland, one contestant will be eliminated each week, with the ultimate winner receiving two exemptions from the four exemptions up for grabs—which represent events on the LPGA Tour, European Tour and Ladies European Tour.

Producers of the reality show, which was filmed at Ireland's K Club, selected Jacques from a pool of more than 1,000 applicants because of her skills and her story, which involves overcoming seriously self-defeating anger issues.
