Former PGA Tour pros part of field for 2025 title

This week’s Inspirato Colorado Senior Open field has a sprinkling of old friends and new blood.
Defending champ Jonathan Kaye, formerly of Boulder and now splitting time between Arizona and Florida, is returning to defend his title. Of the top 14 finishers in 2024 12 are scheduled to return this year to try again. The four most recent winners have all returned – Kaye, Jason Schultz of Dallas (2023), Guy Boros of Ft. Lauderdale (2022) and Harry Rudolph of La Jolla, Calif., (2020 and 2021).

The three-day tournament at Green Valley Ranch Golf begins Wednesday and concludes Friday.
Among new faces in the field is Wes Short Jr. of Texas, a long-time PGA Tour player and two-time Champions Tour winner, is making his first start in the Inspirato Colorado Senior Open.
Shane Bertsch of Parker, a staple on the Champions Tour the past two seasons, is taking advantage of a break in the Champions Tour schedule to play here at home.

The prize money has been adjusted – as it was with both the men’s and women’s tournaments – as Inspirato is ending its run as the tournament’s title sponsor. The winner this year will receive $15,000, down from $20,000, and the total purse is reduced from $100,000 to $80,000.
Omar Oresti of Texas, who played in nearly 400 PGA Tour events beginning in 1995, is also competing. Former Bronco and Steeler Tommy Maddox and former Colorado Sen. Mark Udall are both in the field.
