The USGA’s conforming driver list welcomed seven new Srixon drivers earlier this week
The USGA’s conforming clubs and balls lists are always worth keeping an eye on, especially during what appear to be relatively slow weeks for equipment news. It’s not an announcement of a new release, but something appearing definitely does signify that new clubs are coming. So it was interesting to see seven (yes, seven) Srixon drivers added to the list on Monday morning.
There was a gap between the appearances of the first three and next four, which might not mean a great deal although it does seem likely from their names and descriptions that the first three – ZXi RKT, ZXi RKT LS, and ZXi RKT Max – will be available at retail, while the more convoluted names of the next four (ZXi RKT LS T262, ZXi RKT LS Type D., ZXi RKT TR, and ZXi RKT LS+ – what might ‘LS+’ mean, more spin or less spin?) suggest prototypes, Tour-only, or single-player specific models (Shane Lowry, Hideki Matsuyama, Keegan Bradley, J.J.Spaun, Sepp Straka?). The first three will be in Srixon bags at this week’s Travelers Championship, another sign they are likely headed to retail. And while there’s nothing official yet to confirm what ‘RKT’ might stand for, would it be unreasonable to think it might be short for ‘Rocket’?

Morgan Freeman’s character in ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ asked how often a person really looks at a man’s shoes. Usually, the answer is not very often, of course. We couldn’t really help but notice what Puma Golf ambassadors J.J. Spaun, Gary Woodland, and especially Rickie Fowler had on their feet during last week’s U.S. Open, though.
The players’ Ignite Elevate 2 shoes featured the mismatched neon colors of Puma’s Showtime Pack which has used the bright ‘high-energy’ look to celebrate historical moments in other sports Puma is involved in – soccer, basketball, running.
The Ignite Elevate 2 first appeared in 2025 after the successful launch of the original Ignite Elevate in 2023. It incorporates Ignite Foam, a Floatplate, the PWRSaddle and a one-year waterproof guarantee. The Ignite Elevate 2 Showtime was a limited release, so if the color scheme is your thing, be sure to visit pumagolf.com soon before it sells out. If it’s the actual shoe and not necessarily the Showtime colors that excites you, bear in mind Puma frequently adds to the Ignite Elevate 2 lineup.
