Denver’s golf and parks and recreation department is asking players to vote on proposals for a new clubhouse design.
The poll is part of a five-year effort to gather input on what players and residents want to see at the Kennedy Golf Course, 10500 E Hampden Ave.
The course in the city’s southeast corner and has kicked off a public vote to help pick the final design.
In 2021 the city asked players to rank their enthusiasm for improvements at Kennedy. In that poll a new chipping and pitching practice area received the most support, followed by improvements to bunkers.
Now the city has put out four proposed designs for a new clubhouse and is asking people to answer a survey to determine the favorite. The survey will be open until Jan. 31.

A Cape Cod design, Option A, is described as “a familiar look with modern touches.’ The design would include sloped roofs and walls covered in wood shingles for a warm, traditional feel; brightly painted wood trim adds character and visual interest; large windows and doors divided into smaller sections to feel welcoming and human-scaled; and strong indoor–outdoor connection with pergolas, large patios, and covered porches.

Option B is ‘a modern desing inspired by nearby buildings’ with bold shapes, flat or gently sloped roofs, visible wood beams and support, and covered decks.

Option C is ‘a design influenced by downtown Denver style’ and is reminiscent of the City Park Golf Course clubhouse, with large glass-walled areas to create an open feel.

Option D is ‘inspired by the Colorado landscape’ and has touches that resemble a cabin in the woods. It would feature a sloped steel roof, natural materials and stone, large windows and wide roof overhangs.
