The Inspirato Colorado Senior Open this week continues the tournament’s tradition of attracting top senior professional players as well as some of the best senior amateur golfers in the state.

Defending champion and two-time winner Jason Schultz of Dallas returns to Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver along with seven other past winners. Among the top amateurs in the state, Jon Lindstrom of Lakewood, a five-time low amateur in the Senior Open, leads the crowd. Other past winners expected in the crowd include Dave Arbuckle of Colorado Springs, Guy Boros of Florida, Jonathan Kaye of Arizona and Rich Pavelonis of Illinois.

Local contenders returning this year include Shane Bertsch of Parker and Matt Schalk of Erie, the head pro at Colorado National Golf Club.

The winner will receive $15,000 from the $80,000 purse and the tournament remains one of the top state opens for senior pros and amateurs in the country.

“It’s really kind of nice I have a number of guys playing really good golf,” said Kevin Laura, the CEO of the Colorado Open Golf Foundation which runs the tournament.

Despite the summer-long drought and heatwave the course at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club remains in good shape; it is watered using non-treated water.

“The guys who have come in and done their practice rounds already have said the course is in as good a shape as it’s ever been,” Laura said.

The 2026 Inspirato Colorado Senior Open runs Wednesday through Friday. Go here for live scoring.
