Masters (very) Specials

Below are a few of our favorite Masters releases

By Tony Dear

Manufacturers have been in the habit of issuing limited-edition products to celebrate certain events for a while now. You may not see PGA Championship shoes, apparel or golf balls very often, but the Open Championship, U.S. Open, Olympics, and Ryder Cup always seem to come with special logoed gear. And then there’s the Masters.

Because it’s the unofficial start of Golf Season, the first major championship of the year, and … it’s the Masters, the annual visit to Augusta National stirs many companies/brands to offer items that are colored Masters Green or have pink azaleas sewn in/stamped on. Below are a few of our favorite Masters releases. To earn a spot on the list, each product/line had to have some immediately-recognizable Masters motif plus a good name. A barely visible splash of some random shade of green and a dull name didn’t cut it.

Travis Mathew – Our Favorite Time of Year Collection
Travis Mathew really went to town on its Masters line, and the name says it all. The Featherlight Magnolia Polo and Ringer 2 shoes are just next level.

Rhoback x Seamus Golf – Azalea 2025
Rhoback’s annual Azalea Collection is always worth a look, and this year’s collaboration with Seamus Golf has produced some very cool headcovers.

Under Armour – Going for the Green
The 2015 champion, Jordan Spieth, will be wearing the ‘Going for the Green’ Collection this week, and we’re probably not alone in hoping he and the threads get a lot of airtime.

Golf Pride – Honorary Starter Grips
Even if they weren’t really good grips – which they are – we’d put them on the list just for the name.

Bridgestone – Tour B Peach Reserve golf balls
Another cool name, a beautiful container, and endorsed by five-time champion, Tiger Woods.
