Applewood: More Than Just a Golf Course

Learn more about the many things this CAGGY-winning course in beautiful Golden can offer you

The par-71 Applewood Golf Course in iconic Golden, Colorado, was opened back in 1961. It was designed by J. Press Maxwell, ASGCA, and measures nearly 6,300 yards. Featuring slight elevation changes, water hazards and a mix of local wildlife, our course is one you’ll want to play time after time. Applewood is a great course for all abilities and ages and was awarded Best course to Walk in 2023.

In 2022 and 2023 we completed sixteen tee box renovations that included leveling, irrigation work, expansion and new sod. We are so excited to have improved many of the tee boxes on the course as they are experiencing increased play.

We are also excited to announce that we completed a bar renovation last season, and look forward to welcoming both golfers and the community to enjoy the new bar and restaurant this year called Bunker’s Taproom. The Taproom features ten beer taps, a new bar for people to sit at, a service window, and much more!

We look forward to continuing to be a part of our amazing community and continue to grow the game of golf. We will continue with our Welcome2Golf program again this year. Through this program, we welcomed over 300 new golfers to the golf course last year and are on track to see that many, if not more, again this year! If you are looking to enjoy the game with us, be sure to check out what lessons we have that best fit your needs and abilities. Applewood also has one of the top junior programs in the country and we welcome golfers of all abilities and ages to join us at the course.

Whether you want to improve your game, make new friends or create lasting memories with the best of them, your second family awaits you!
