Valor Christian High School Girl’s golf team won its third straight 5A state championship this week, taking the 2024 team state championship by 25 strokes over runner-up Fossil Ridge High School.
Valor junior Brenna Higgins also won the individual title for the second straight year.

The girls state championships were decided over two days with teams or individuals playing two 18-hole rounds. The 5A competition was held at the Broadlands Golf Course in Broomfield. Higgins won with rounds of 72 and 66.
In the 4A competition Erie High School also won its third-straight girls championship, taking the title over runner-up Holy Family High School. Erie senior Logan Hale won her second-straight individual title. The 4A championship was played at Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs.

In the 3A competition, Prospect Ridge Academy in Broomfield, took the team title over runner-up Colorado Academy. Two players tied during regular play – two-time defending state champ Madeline Bante and Prospect Ridge junior Hope Torres – and Torres defeated Bante in a one-hole playoff.

The 3A championship was played at The Olde Course – Loveland.
Had Bante won her third title she would have joined Lynn Ann Moretto of Cherry Creek High School, Ashley Tait of Mullen High School and Hailey Schalk of Holy Family High School as the only three-time state champs in Colorado. No player, boy or girl, has won four titles.
