Golf Expo’s move to March 7 to 9 leads to a new wave of vendors

Fans of the Colorado Golf Expo have to wait another couple of weeks this year to get their annual crash course on the newest gear, coolest courses and all-golf vibes.

The Expo this season has been moved from its traditional Presidents Day weekend slot to March 7 to 9 at the Colorado Convention Center.

Expo owner Kevin Morton moved the dates in response to attendees’ feedback who told him more would come if the Expo was not at the same time as one of the winter season’s most popular three-day ski weekends.

So Morton and his team moved the Expo to the first weekend in March when, traditionally, the first buds of spring grass are visible, and if the weather is good the main competition will be players teeing it up on actual green-grass Colorado courses.

“We have a lot of new small vendors, the mom and pops – clothing, hat companies – we have the U.S. Senior Open will have a booth,” Morton said. “We are hoping they will be bringing the trophy. We have a lot of the tried-and-true who have been at the show for many years.”

Colorado AvidGolfer will have its traditional slot by the front doors selling the 2025 Colorado Golf Passport.

Out-of-town courses remain a staple for the Expo, with presenters from courses in Las Vegas, Hawaii, Arizona and other locales touting their destinations.

For the first time, there will be a long-drive competition indoors that will serve as a local qualifier for the 2025 World Long Drive competition. Former world champ Monica Lieving of Denver and 2023 amateur world champion Andrew Eigner will be participating.

“I’m excited but then I’m always excited,” Morton said. “Nothing brings me down. The floor plan is different. It is going to be a really good flow.”

Most major club manufacturers are scheduled to have displays and hitting opportunities. Lenny’s Golf Shop and Denver-based golf apparel company Pins & Aces will be two of the largest vendors.

The Expo runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 8 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9.
