The new Cloud Polo from tasc looks great, feels even better and would go great in your wardrobe

For decades, Al Andrews, later joined by his son Todd, owned and operated a private-label apparel company that made clothes for national brands like Nautica. Based in New Orleans, La., Andrews also had a division that made its own polo shirts and sportswear. Unlike other companies, it partnered with a small, family-owned factory in southern India, making sure its employees were paid wages significantly higher than the regional average, and also providing subsidized housing as well as free healthcare for employees and their families. The Andrews were also careful to operate an environmentally responsible business, ensuring that 100% of the power used to run the sewing facility was generated from wind and solar and that 95% of the water used in fabric dyeing was recovered, treated, and reused.
In 2011, the company modernized and began a new era, rebranding as ‘tasc’, the name an acronym of the four family members’ first initials – Todd, Al, Scott and Cindy (Todd and Scott were Al and Cindy’s two sons). The relationship with its Indian factory partner remained intact, however, and together they began using bamboo and beechwood fibers as sustainable alternatives to polyester.
Through trial and error, they eventually settled on the initial blend for the men’s Carrollton T-Shirt, a formula that has since been refined and updated and which now forms the basis of the company’s library of fabrics used in its current lines.
It’s all well and good to make clothes from sustainable fabrics but to be truly successful/effective clothes need to be appealing to customers. They must be comfortable, reasonably priced, washable, and durable.
The company’s lightweight and breathable Cloud Polo is the softest, most comfortable polo shirt I’ve worn in a long time. Made from a mix of beechwood, micro-modal (a specialized type of rayon made from cellulose fibers prized for being soft and resistant to shrinkage), and a small amount of polyester, it’s not only pleasant to wear but also cooling and anti-odor.
The company has an extensive range of stylish polos, quarter/half-zips, hoodies, shorts and pants for men; and polos, quarter-zips, tanks, skirts, and sports bras for women.
Eric Cole, the 2022/23 Rookie of the Year, wears tasc’s Cloud polos and Motion pants on the PGA Tour.
