Lehigh through to round of 32 at U.S. Women’s Amateur

Lauren Lehigh, of Loveland, won her opening round Wednesday in the match-play portion of this year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur, defeating Isabella Rawl of South Carolina 3 and 2.

Lehigh was a four-year starter at Loveland High School and has played for the New Mexico University Lobos. She advanced out of stroke play competition of the U.S. Amateur by firing a two-day score of 1-over to finished tied for 25th place. The top 64 finishers in stroke play began match competition on Wednesday.

The U.S. Women’s Amateur is being held this year at Bel Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

Morgan Miller from Austin, Tx., who is on the University of Colorado golf team, lost after 19 holes in her match Wednesday with Taylor Riley of San Diego.

Emma Bryant, a University of Denver junior from Aurora, missed the cut in stroke play after Tuesday’s rounds concluded.
