Inspirato Colorado Senior Open runs Wednesday to Friday

The 25th annual Inspirato Colorado Senior Open begins Wednesday at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club Wednesday thru Friday with several former PGA Tour winners vying for the title.
Registrants include PGA Tour winners and veterans like Jonathan Kaye, Bob May, 2022-winner Guy Boros, Skip Kendall and Donnie Hammond. Champions Tour winner and past Colorado Open champ Shane Bertsch.
The Inspirato Colorado Senior Open will be played Wedneday through Friday, Aug. 28 to 30, at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The tournament is open to the public.
Bertsch, a Denver-native who lives in Parker now, has made 17 of 18 cuts at PGA Champions Tour events this year.
Eight past champions are registered including two-time winners Harry Rudolph and Greg Bruckner, and Coloradans Doug Rohrbaugh and Mike Zaremba.
In total, the field boasts three PGA Tour winners of five titles, one Champions Tour winner in Bertsch, nine Korn Ferry winners with 24 titles amongst them, eight past Colorado Senior Open champions and four past Colorado Open champions.
The amateur field includes defending low amateur champion Michael Harrington of Colorado Springs and two-time winner Kent Moore of Cherry Hills Village. Steve Ivan of Colorado Springs and Dave Nelson of Littleton join former U.S. Senator Mark Udall in an amateur field dominated by Coloradans. And making his senior open debut as a 50-year-old rookie is Steve Irwin of Golden, son of World Golf Hall of Famer Hale Irwin.
The 147-player field will be competing in the 54-hole championship Aug. 28 to 30, vying for the largest senior purse in state opens history of $100,000 with $20,000 going to the winning professional.
