Bruckner Wins CO Senior Open

Denver, CO: Greg Bruckner of Phoenix, AZ fired a 4-under par 68 in steady winds to earn the champions trophy and the $8,500 winner’s check in the HealthONE Colorado Senior Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. Bruckner eagled the par-5 9th and added three birdies and one bogey on the final nine to make up a 4-stroke deficit at the start of the final round.

David Delich of Colorado Springs, CO finished alone in second place and won low amateur honors after posting a 1-under par 71 for a three day total of 4-under par 212. Perry Holmes of Denver, CO finished alone in third place after his 2-under par 70 combined for a 3-under par total of 213. This was Holmes’ second 3rd place finish in consecutive years.

Super Senior (players 60 years of age or older) honors and a $1,000 bonus check went to Scott Masingill of  Payette, ID who finished at 5-over par 221 after posting a 3-over par 75 on Friday.

Jerry Walters was honored with the Ralph Moore Golf Journalism Award for outstanding golf coverage over 19 years via his In The Fairway radio show.
