The Mini Putt Golf Challenge

A guide to mastering the addicting online golf game of Mini Putt

Our golf games may go dormant in winter, but there’s never an off-season for putting practice. You may have a mat set up indoors, or even found yourself resorting to the old cup-on-the-carpet approach. Both work.

Online golf games aren’t a substitute for rolling the actual rock, but if you want to take a break from the monotony of tapping Titlests at a jar, try the mini putt golf challenge game.

It’s the latest craze taking over our office, and what we assume may spread to yours. Play here.

WARNING: THIS GAME IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE

Putting 18 holes, players experience deceiving slopes, creepy clowns, and metal rods, all while trying to reach par or lower. While most of the holes seem rather straight forward, don’t be fooled. As a self-proclaimed Mini Putt expert, I have 5 bits of advice:

• Careful with your drop. You must play it as it lies.

• Play off the walls and use a protractor if necessary. This is a game of angles. Numerous holes have you weaving around obstacles, but if you can learn to play the angles correctly, you may just find yourself with a hole-in-one.

• The dark green/light green pattern squares indicate a change in slope. Don’t be afraid to overdo it when putting uphill. (This may apply to your real life putting game as well.)

• On #2, go for the furthest hole—this is your best chance for a hole-in-one!

• #14 can and will be the hole that puts you over par.
