Sonnenalp Unveils The Future of Club Memberships

A new focus on family lifestyle and bold worldwide partnerships

In January Vail Valley’s Sonnenalp Golf Club dropped “Golf “from its name—but not from its roster of amenities—and announced an enticing new membership opportunity for current and potential members. It’s one that includes vertical family privileges and worldwide Signature Gold Benefits though its partnership with ClubCorp—at no additional charge. Sounds great but what does it all mean?

 “Vertical Family Privileges”

When you become a member at Sonnenalp Club, your whole family becomes one too: spouse, parents, adult children and their spouses and children. That’s right, everyone is a member. An entire family can enjoy access to Sonnenalp’s amenities with no guest fees. The new, and quite revolutionary, multigenerational program also allows for an original member to pass down their membership to a child. No additional initiation fee or transfer fee required.

This shift in focus to family and community-based initiatives will also include: new programming and events, culinary opportunities, alpine activities and a state-of-the-art, 14,000-square-foot wellness and fitness facility on which the club will break ground in October (rendering below).

ClubCorp’s Signature Gold Benefits

Sonnenalp members will also receive special access to discounts and offerings at ClubCorp’s Worldwide Community of Private Clubs and Members. A community that consists of legendary private golf and country clubs, big-name fine dining restaurants, luxury resorts and entertainment venues.

Wondering what specific clubs, resorts and restaurants they are referring to? Here are just a few to whet your appetite.

Golf: Firestone Country Club, The Metropolitan Club, Tiburon Golf Club, Braemar Country Club, Aspen Glen Club, Oahu Country Club, Mission Hills Country Club, Tucson National Golf Club (pictured below), Gleneagles Country Club, The Baylor Club, and Highlands Falls Country Club.

Oh, did I mention that each Sonnenalp Club membership with Signature Gold is also afforded two rounds of golf with complimentary green fees, at each of the participating clubs, every month? It’s true.

Resorts: Pinehurst, Squaw Valley Ski Resort, Omni Montelucia Resort & Spa, Bay Hill Club & Lodge, and Hotel Del Coronado.

Restaurants: Le Cirque, The Capital Grille, Del Frisco’s and Emeril Lagasse’s restaurants.

Yes, all this and more will be at the member’s fingertips.

If this is what the future of club memberships is going to look like, I’m going to start saving my pennies.
