Golf by Numbers: The May Issue

4 years after taking over coaching the men’s and women’s golf programs at Wheaton College in Illinois, Colorado Golf Hall of Famers Kent and Janet Moore (pictured above) have alerted the school that this will be their last season. “It was just too difficult going back and forth,” Janet reports. “It was very hard telling players, but everyone has been very understanding.” The Moores’ children, Steve and Sarah, both played on the Wheaton golf team.

4 consecutive years is how many times Glacier Club’s PGA Director of Instruction Alex Fisher (pictured belwow) has appeared on Golf Digest’s list of “Best Young Teachers in America.” “It is an honor that I would never take for granted at any age,” says Fisher, 37, who teams with the Durango club’s PGA head professional Luke Brosterhous. From Nottingham, England, Fisher recently attained the prestigious classification as PGA Certified Professional, which only 2 percent of the PGA of America’s 27,000 members have achieved. He teaches at Wildfire Golf Club in Phoenix during the winter. theglacierclub.com
