Hahn, Trotter share lead at CoBank Colorado Women’s Open

Denver, CO: Joy Trotter of Chino Hills, CA and Jennifer Hahn of Henderson, NV wasted no time in telling the rest of the field they’re ready to win by posting 6-under par rounds of 66 to take two stroke leads into the second round of the 2016 CoBank Colorado Women’s Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.

Trotter (2011 champion) and Hahn (2015 US Women’s Amateur medalist) had similar scorecards with Trotter posting seven birdies and a bogey and Hahn making six birdies with no bogies blemishing her card.

Alone in 3rd place just two strokes back at 4-under is University of Virginia graduate Lauren Coughlin of Charlottesville, VA.

In 4th place and playing her first round as a professional is Lizbeth Brooks of Waunakee, WI who shot 69 (-3). Seven other players finished under par and 14 total players were at even par or better.

In the low amateur competition Jaclyn Murray of Grand Junction, CO holds a one-stroke lead at 1-over par 73. She is closely followed by four players at 2-over 74 and ten total players are within three strokes of the lead.

In the pro-am competition Team Ringsby Realty consisting of professional Christina Lecuyer of Edmonton, Canada and Brad Anderson of Denver posted an astounding 12-under par score of 60 to take a two-stroke lead over Team Ferris State (Elena Robles of Redondo Beach, CA and Jay Small of Aurora, CO).

In total 38 players plus ties in the championship field will make the cut after Thursday’s second round with 12 pro-am teams plus ties making the cut and advancing.


Thursday tee times begin at 7:30 AM. Parking and admission are free at Green Valley Ranch for spectators wishing to see the action live.
