Calling All Junior Golfers in Colorado and Wyoming

Compete in the Big “I” State Qualifier June 25th and 26th

Do you have a competitive junior golfer in your family? Kids 18 and under from Colorado and Wyoming are eligible to participate in the upcoming state qualifier for the Trusted Choice® Big “I” National Championship.

The event, organized by the Trusted Choice Independent Agents of Colorado, will take place at Boomerang Links on June 25th and Highland Hills (Greeley) June 26th.  The two-round tournament—with qualifying opportunities for boys and girls—is both recognized by the Colorado Junior Golf Association (CJGA) and on their point schedule.

Top finishers from this event, as well those from the other state qualifiers, will be sent to the Big “I” National Championship August 3-6 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Championship Field is expected to contain 162 players from at least 41 states. Within that field, sixty girls will compete for the Mayerstein Trophy, while 102 boys will compete for the Robert Trent Jones Trophy.

Billed as one of the nation’s largest stroke play golf tournaments, the national tournament has been considered one of the four legs of the unofficial junior golf Grand Slam. Past notable participants and champions of The Big “I” include: Zach Johnson, Tiger Woods, David Duval, Phil Mickelson and Notah Begay III.

Eligibility guidelines: The participants’ 19th birthday must NOT fall prior the end of the Trusted Choice Big “I” National Championship on August 6th. Also, players must not have already started college on or before the first day of the national tournament.
