Sunice Golf: Bold Color, Fashion and Performance

New collection brightens up those drab pastels

A few weeks back we offered some sage dos-and-don’ts fashion advice for wearing bright colors on the golf course. As we pointed out, bright can be cool; loud and tasteless, not so much—unless, of course, you’re doing it to get under your opponent’s skin.

Bright colors can be downright breathtaking when they’re done right. One golf apparel company that gets it is Sunice, which has been crafting the right stuff from its Calgary, Canada, headquarters since 1976 and has been a leading golf fashion designer and manufacturer for more than two decades.

One of Sunice’s newest men’s lines is the Typhoon Collection—waterproof, lightweight, full-stretch rainwear that is saturated in big, bold, masculine, I’d-love-wear-that primary colors, as well as classic tones of charcoals and blacks splashed with edgy neon yellows and greens. A closer look reveals Sunice’s ergonomically designed technical details, including its celebrated laser cut welding and the company’s patented V-collar design.

A Carlerton Typhoon jacket ($180 suggested retail) looks and feels like a million bucks, but how does it perform?

Last week during a late-winter snow, I “test-drove” the jacket. No surprise, the Zephal-fabricated garment performed flawlessly, keeping Old Man Winter at bay in more ways than one. Waterproof, windproof, breathable and comfortable—and the “Nice jacket!” compliments were icing on the cake.

Sunice’s new golfwear should also appeal to women. Among the bright colors are hot pinks complemented with classic white and grounded to charcoal for a more commercial palette. And the lush purple hues pop with neon corals, a fresh approach that is more athletically inspired but keeps the fashionista front and center.

I can’t wait to wear the jacket to the golf course this spring. And if it distracts my playing partner, so much the better. For information, go to sunice.com or call (800) 561-3872.
