Ann Finke Wins PGA National Award as Junior Leader of the Year

For the fourth consecutive year, a member of the Colorado Section PGA will receive a national award from the PGA of America.

Ann Finke, PGA Director of Instruction at the Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs was recently chosen as this year’s PGA of America Junior Leader of the Year.

Finke has been a PGA member for 25 years and received the 2009 Colorado PGA Junior Leader Award.

Finke is known as the First Lady of Junior Golf in Southern Colorado as her Junior Program reaches more than the Club’s juniors. It reaches the entire city and community of Colorado Springs and she has juniors come from Pueblo, Denver, Steamboat Springs and even Wyoming to take lessons from her.

Thanks to her nurturing, positive influence, more than a thousand lives have been positively impacted. “It may start out with instruction but it turns into a lifelong relationship,” said Eddie Ainsworth, Executive Director of the Colorado PGA Section.

Finke follows Colorado PGA Professionals Danny Harvanek (2007 Junior Golf Leader), Clayton Cole (2008 Bill Strausbaugh Award) and Kyle Heyen (2009 President's Plaque) as National Award winners.

She will receive her award in January at the 2011 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
