Arizona Resort News

The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, is planning 10 extravagant epicurean evenings – of innovative gourmet dining, acclaimed wines, winemakers talking about their wines, and after-dinner drinks and cigars – for the resort’s 24th season of “Winemaker Dinners”. Each Winemaker Dinner will feature an original multi-course menu, prepared by Executive Chef Gordon Maybury and Chef de Cuisine Bryan Gorton, paired with specially selected wines of a noted vintner. Held in the resort’s historic signature restaurant, Wright’s at the Biltmore, the 2013-2014 season will feature wineries in California, Italy and France. In addition to savoring gourmet dishes and sipping fine wines, diners will learn about the wines from representatives of the wineries, and enjoy cigars and Port or other favorite after-dinner drinks on Wright’s patio. The dinners start with a reception at 7 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. and cost is $95 per person.

Hidden Meadow Ranch, developed 11 years ago, is making a big change as it transitions to a private market. The top of the line guest ranch in the White Mountains near Greer is transforming into an exclusive residential community. The change was encouraged by the improvement of the real-estate market in Arizona. Even though thousands of guests have indulged in the accommodations of Hidden Meadow Ranch, the new business outlook hopes to take advantage of the positive changes in the housing market. Activities such as horseback riding, fishing, hiking and popular winter sports will also be available. Waterskiing will be available at Sunrise Resort, a nearby property. A range of cabins will be available to choose from for permanent living and as vacation homes. The location will still host select special events. Events and guests that had booked for stays after August 18th will be notified and all deposits will be refunded.  Offers will be made to reschedule guests at The Ritz-Carlton and Dove Mountain.
